KMD Creative was selected from a number of design firms that pitched for this council re-fresh / re-brand in 2015. We partnered with Melbourne Marketing Consultancy - Affect Media, to assist with the considerable research and engagement components of the project, and then took the creative reigns to write the creative brief and develop design solutions to reposition Moira Shire where they needed to be. Potentially one of the most significant points to come out of the research, which became one of the key focus points of the Creative Brief, was to find a way to give geographical context to where Moira was. We did this by placing the Shire within a stylised “ribbon” map of Victoria that shows Moira’s actual location on the Murray. The logo also represents the core elements of Sun, Water and Environment, and the importance these elements play in the Moira economy and relaxed lifestyle. The re-brand was an incredible success, with no pushback or negativity recorded.
